Nestled in the Sierra Nevada, Truckee, California, is the ideal destination for travelers looking to explore the year-round beauty of Lake Tahoe. Whether you’re drawn by the sapphire waters in summer or the snow-covered peaks in winter, Truckee offers easy access to all the best activities Lake Tahoe has to offer from lake adventures, golfing and hiking trails to ski slopes, gourmet dining, and après-ski spots.
Truckee Tahoe Airport (TRK), situated just a few miles from the historic and beautiful downtown Truckee, is a small regional airport catering to private flights. Terrain, obstacles and weather conditions can make it tricky to get in and out of this hub, so careful planning and weather watching is essential, especially in the winter. We highly recommend doing some training flights in and out of the area with our instructors to familiarize yourself before flying in with friends and family. While you’re at it, we recommend planning for your time on the ground if staying overnight to ensure your experience goes smoothly. Pre-book a rental car or Uber ride, and brush up on your bear and wildlife safety knowledge.
The airport offers aircraft parking, hangars, and concierge services to make your arrival seamless. Red Truck Cafe located inside the terminal building serves globally inspired dishes made from fresh, seasonal ingredients and has a patio for plane watching.
